what are you gonna do this summer?

Hi guys!

Nearly two weeks without updating. Guilty, that's what I am : )

However, I have been super busy doing other things beside studying for finals, which is very exciting! I haven't had time to do shootings at all and that explains the lack of post. But I want to share with you guys a few exciting things been going on in my life.

- I got new jobs. This probably the very first time in my life I find myself work multiple jobs at one time. Excited? Hell yeah I am. Worried? For sure. Because I am literally challenging my inner lazy self to be productive and not procrastinate, I can't be more terrified at the workload that is incoming. But I have been pushing myself so hard, hopefully I will get things done in the right way.

You guys might probably still remember Xtyle.vn right? It is a Vietnamese sharing style kind of site which I have been featured on a handful of time. And thanks to this blog, which is the very first reason why I first started taking outfit pictures, I got offered a job there, being the manager. This is such a huge thing for me, definitely the biggest opportunity in my life so far as well as the biggest one my blog brought to me. I went to the office first time last Wednesday and will officially start working there next Monday so finger crossed for me please : ) and support Xtyle.vn! there are so many interesting things are coming to you guys, according to the brief meeting I had there.
I also will be a feature writer for kenh14.vn, which is like a brother of xtyle.vn. You see why I am so happy?

And also, this summer I will return to be the teaching assistant for an English summer camp, iCamp! - I am also getting done with Sophomore year at the university. Planning my way to the UK.

i was such a lazy kid the past few days that i felt guilty. so i dragged myself to school today and actually studied! thought that i might need some boost and there is nothing scream energy more than these awesome kicks! love them so much i wish i could wear them all the time... 

btw, how awesome is the location for this shooting? i seriously need to come back there with a concept in mind! and fyi, i was scared to death inside the car because somehow, i thought it was haunted haha.

lately i cannot help but noticing that it is almost a year since my first blog post (18th Sept). time flies so fast it kinda scare me. i have been wanting to change a lot of thing in the blog, like the layout (btw, what do you think about the new layout? : D i added more color to feel more spring-y), the contents, etc.. but there is one thing i will always keep in mind is: i blog for fun. so even if i blog not very regularly, i take absence one in awhile and i write extremely random posts ... it is because i don't want to force myself and take out the fun part in blogging. i blog to share, not to sell. as long as iam happy with my baby, nothing else matter.

moving on, iam back to school today after a long weekend. tuesday feel like monday to me since i dont have class on monday. this is how i look most of the time because i always find myself rushing to school and only have like 5 or 10 minutes top to get ready. i keep things easy, simple and very casual. no stacking, no layering since it is getting too hot and i simply don't have the time haha. my accessories are my tattoo, the stain of watercolor on my hands and my adorable laptop case. here are some very quick shots my friend took for me in like 2 minutes before we rush to lunch.

i promised you guys a Q&A post awhile ago but just havent got around to do it til now. basically because i answer the questions right the instant i read them (through formpring or email). but i keep getting the same questions over and over again so maybe making a post and answer all of your concerns might be a good idea. these questions are the ones i received in the past 2 months or so.

2. your hair looks gorgeous. what color is it? :)
the colorist mixed a bunch of color so as he described: ash light brown with greenish ash blonde highlights. the hair dye is from l'oreal and the code for the greenish part is 7.0


3. Kim last time i went to vietnam there's rarely any big brand names or european clothes. do you get your clothes online and if not can you share where to shop in vn?
Hi there, there are quite a lot of high street and brand name clothing available in Vietnam now, you can easily spot them in malls like Vincom, Parkson, Pico and if you go to Ho Chi Minh City, there will be a few more (check out Runway in HCMC, tons of brand name stuffs). I try to seize my opportunity to shop on sale or when I have a opportunity to travel.
I usually check out ASOS or Topshop too since they ship to Vietnam now but not very often because I hate the waiting part and the price just not that nice.
There are also thrifted and retail store like M2 but you have to dig and check because, well, not everything is nice and good quality.
I don't shop much because Iam very picky when I shop and I think I only add around 3 or 5 new items to my closet per year and I ALWAYS wait for the sale to go to the malls. So hope I help a little bit, have fun shopping in Vietnam : )

no, iam not at the moment.


5. have you ever bought something then you feel so regret for buying them?
haha unfortunately yes! but i tend to keep them because most of the time, i eventually find a way to actually use them.


6. what are you studying & where?
iam studying Business Administration at Foreign Trade University.


7, purple gonna be your next hair color?
i dont know, maybe? i want to dip dye my hair so maybe it will fade from brown -> pink -> purple. still trying to figure out wear to buy good hair dye in Hanoi tho : )


8. can I use your photos on my tumblr/blog?

9. hi kim! do you know where (in hanoi) i can buy some unique tights? and which are your fav shops? btw did you go to hanoi flea market?
- you can find tights in different color, fabric,... at Gia Ngu alley. i find all of my patterned tights (hearts, star prints, stripes, ...) at Aldo (Vincom, Ham Ca Map,...)
- i dont have a favorite shop unfortunately : ) but i like M2 and enjoy digging, there are a lot of nice stuffs actually!
- and no, i didnt go to hanoi flea market : P


10. you bleached and dyed your hair so how do you maintain and keep them in good condition?
there are some few things i do to get my hair back to good condition:
- drink lots of water.
- clean and condition. i shampoo my hair every 2 or 3 days. if i need to feel extra fresh and dont want to shampoo my hair, i run my hair through cold water and use a small amount of conditioner.
- use a deep conditioner. Goldwell rich repair 60s treatment is amazing!
- leave hair airdry but never ever sleep with your hair wet. you can braid your hair into loose braids when your hair is slightly damped and sleep on them to prevent them from breaking and create nice beachy waves.


11. do you have a boyfriend?
no, iam single.


12. where do you usually take your photos?
i like La Place, its a cafe at Au Trieu street. but now iam not sure where the location for my next shooting will be. and i like that fact.


13. how would you style a plain white tank top? its slightly oversized.
i assume we're talking summer here? i would wear a nice lace bandeau underneath. jeans short. ankle boots. big shawl/very light weight cardigan/sheer shirt over it. layer necklaces and bracelets. mini leather backpack or something leather and studded.


14. whats your favorite make up item at the moment? can you do a blog post about them?
lipstick. i only have 2 lipsticks cause i hated them until the last 2 months. and sure, i will.
